Following Governor Gavin Newsom’s announcement regarding social gatherings to protect public health and slow the spread of COVID-19, the tri-section workshop jointly hosted by ITE SoCal, RSBITE and ITE San Diego Section tomorrow (Friday, March 13, 2020) is cancelled. Please note that the State’s public health experts have determined that gatherings should be postponed or canceled across the state until at least the end of March. The Joint February Luncheon Meeting with ITE Central Coast Section was held on Wednesday, February 12, at the Thousand Oaks Municipal Services Building. Monica Suter, PE, TE, PTOE, F, with the City of Santa Ana Public Works, presented on the topic "The ATP Project that Almost Wasn't." The ITE student chapters of CPP, CSUF, CSULB, UCLA, UCI ITE Student Chapter, and USC competed for the prestigious hashtag#StudentTrafficBowl on Saturday, February 8th. After an intense first round, UCLA, Cal Poly Pomona and UCI moved to the final round. In the end, UCLA placed 1st, Cal Poly Pomona placed 2nd, and UC Irvine placed 3rd! ITE SoCal section conducted did a day long outreach event at the East Los Angeles Renaissance Academy, which is a high school that offers students an opportunity to focus in urban planning and design. During the six hour day, our section members spoke to over 160 students ranging from 9th grade to 12th grade.
